Lafayette College’s Engineering class, Sustainable Solutions, taught by Professor Ben Cohen, designed Musical Playground that will reside near the dog park on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail. A prototype has been approved and the project installation is planned for later this year. Students have worked with city planners, engineers, environmentalists, musicians and artists to create a interactive musical environment for all ages. A video of Musical Playground can be found here.
The Garde House is located on a spur off the main Trail that follows Sullivan Road to the College, under the Route 22/Bushkill Creek overpass. Each year we invite an artist to create an installation using the former Lafayette College guard house as site and gallery to house their work. Summer 2017 will feature an installation by Frederick Wright Jones.
