Children from an Easton Area Community Center summer camp in Easton’s West Ward will create new paintings on the Young Masters Wall (YMW) tomorrow at 10 a.m. If necessary, they’ll return Friday at 10 a.m. to finish the job.
“They did an incredible job last summer, and I can’t wait to work with them again,” says Danny Moyer, coordinator of the YMW for the Karl Stirner Arts Trail. The wall is located on the Richard McAteer Memorial Bridge, AKA “blue bridge.”
“Ultimately, we hope the students have fun being out in the fresh air, painting with friends, expressing themselves, and leaving a mark of their work with our community, even if it’s only for a month,” adds Moyer. “We hope that people who walk the trail enjoy seeing children’s art work change throughout the seasons. We want people to know that the trail is a real art experience for all.”
Ages 5-14, the children will be painting over works created on the theme of “summer fun” by students of Easton Arts Academy.
Future groups scheduled to paint on the wall are:
- The Learning Center at Third Street Alliance for Women and Children in July
- Girl Scouts on Aug. 23 at 6 p.m.
- Easton Area High School and Phillipsburg High School students in September and October
