April 27 is Trail Cleanup Day

An empty cup and a liquor bottle on the ground on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail in Easton, Pennsylvania.

The Karl Stirner Arts Trail is grateful for the community’s support of our effort to prepare the trail for the coming spring. As love for the trail grows and its use widens, we need volunteers to help remove stream-side plastic bottles and the occasional litter blown down from the highway by winter winds.

With the expected rain, the Annual KSAT Trail Cleanup Day will be moved to Saturday, April 27.

Our volunteers are known to be hearty souls, but cleanup is so much easier when you’re not holding an umbrella. We hope to see all who have planned to join us on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 9–11 a.m.

For those who pick up a little litter as the mood hits, we are going to place some small bags at the Young Masters Wall along with some reaching tools. Many, including fishermen, have done spot cleanup already.

Thank you for showing the trail love.

Meet either at the “blue bridge” off Bushkill Drive (park at the KSAT lot, 500 Bushkill Drive) or at the 13th Street trailhead lot.
Gloves and garbage bags will be provided. Hiking boots, long pants, longsleeve shirts, and work gloves are recommended.

This year’s cleanup volunteers will each be thanked with a coupon for a free scoop of organic ice cream (cup or small cone) from Owowcow Creamery at the Silk Mill. The coupon is good for Saturday, April 27, beginning at  the 11 a.m. opening time.
