Update: For tomorrow night’s film, you can park at the Bushkill Commons lot, 901 Bushkill Dr. (opposite IAS). Thanks, Lafayette College!

You can’t have more fun watching a movie than seeing it on a big screen in the great outdoors!

Experiencing it on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail makes it even more enjoyable. Join the Movies Along the Trail series for two features:

  • At Eternity’s Gate, a journey inside the world and mind of legendary artist Vincent van Gogh, on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. (rain date: Aug. 25)
  • The animated film Migration on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. (rain date: Sept. 8)

Bring a blanket or chairs and a picnic dinner. The screenings will take place on “Movie Hill” near the KSAT dog park.

The showing of At Eternity’s Gate is billed as Date Night on the KSAT. Willem Dafoe’s portrayal of Van Gogh earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. “It’s one of his most remarkable performances overall as he finds ways to channel both the believable, in-the-moment truth of his character and the bigger, philosophical picture his director is trying to craft,” writes film critic Brian Tallerico, managing editor of RogerEbert.com.

The Migration screening is Family Movie Night on the KSAT. The 2023 film features the voices of Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina, and Danny DeVito. The movie’s summary: “A family of ducks decides to leave the safety of a New England pond for an adventurous trip to Jamaica. However, their well-laid plans quickly go awry when they get lost and wind up in New York City. The experience soon inspires them to expand their horizons, open themselves up to new friends, and accomplish more than they ever thought possible.”

The 2024 Movies Along the Trail series is sponsored by Integrated Automotive Services, Bi-State Construction, Timmerman Equipment, and Unity Bank.
