A split leaf maple tree now stands by the Water Way installation created by the late Paul Deery on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail. From Merri Cuadra, Paul’s widow:
“Paul had a split leaf maple tree growing next to his shop. It had been there so long, its roots grew through the pot and into the earth. There it sat, getting nurtured over the years. On Friday, November 15, [our son] Galen and Luc dug it up and planted it at Water Way. A living, breathing, and forever changing art installation. Paul did not dabble. He did not fiddle. He took very seriously his art making. Water Way is truly his masterpiece. He once told me he’d like to be planted. And so, he is.”
